Olive Green Suedette Metal Trim Bracelet - newlook.com £5.99
So, alas, the Football and Tennis came to a dramatic end this weekend and even Love Island has finished... (dramatic sigh!)...what will we all do with ourselves??? Well, we're hoping the Summer has arrived and it's high time we got out and about to celebrate the sunshine! We are realistic in the fact that although we say 'Summer' has arrived, this is after all 'British Summertime.' As we all know the weather will be a little 'erratic' as per usual but also 'as per usual', after a good 10 months of wind and rain (with very brief sunny intervals) we'll be rushing to get into our Summer wardrobe as soon as the temperatures get into the late teens. The weather currently almost seems like we're going through all four seasons in a day and although it does seem to be improving later this week (according to the forecasters) we've no guarantee of any extensive heatwaves...yet! (We're still thinking positive, I promise!) So we see the only solution is to be very clever with our wardrobes...which, unlike the weather we are in control of!
Khaki is a neutral tone that we feel covers all weathers well, in the sun with a little clever accessorising it looks chic and understated, if any clouds appear, you still feel slightly more appropriately dressed than you would in a white or brightly coloured Summer dress (although there is always a time and place for these too, of course). Navy also has this power to adapt to the weather, Khaki and Navy are almost like our alternatives to black during this 'not quite warm enough to shed all of our layers weather.' (Although again, there is always a time and place for black, even in the Summer months!)...but back to Khaki.
We've seen lots of Khaki on the high street and whether it's a t-shirt, blouse, dress or jeans it's one of those simple shades that pairs very well with almost anything. If you want to go the simplest route...which we would normally take...a khaki top looks fab with blue denim, black trousers or white jeans and pairs beautifully with gold or silver jewellery but our personal preference would be gold as you'll have noticed in our 'New Look Mood Board' above!
All together this 'New Look Mood Board' comes in at just over a hundred pounds... It seems to me that as we always say, 'You don't have to spend a fortune to look and feel a million dollars!' This simple selection shows adding a few new pieces in complimentary shades into your wardrobe will immediately give you a host of new potential outfits. Shopping in this way, by taking inspiration from adding a few new accessories, will help you to see new outfits in your wardrobe with ease. You can pair the blouse with jeans, bracelet and sandals for daytime and just change into the heels and grab a beautiful embellished clutch for a perfect relaxed evening look. The dress would be a great holiday essential, perfect with sandals in the day with sunglasses and then just by adding some glamour with these chandelier earrings, you'll be ready for sipping cocktails under the stars!
We hope this gives you a little inspiration on how to work with your wardrobe and make it work for you. We know that when you look good, it feels good and with all our busy lives it's important that 'getting dressed doesn't make you feel stressed!' An adaptable easy wardrobe, makes choosing an outfit to wear simple and enjoyable. If you need any help with your wardrobe we do offer a range of Styling Services, from 'Wardrobe Decluttering', helping you to discard items that you no longer need and assisting you to find new ways to wear old favourites to 'Personal Shopping Services,' where we will go to the shops and source you some new wardrobe items, set them aside and then meet up with you to go and try them on and find you some wonderful new outfits!
